Another important factor in being a skilled airsoft sniper is using a high quality gun that shoots accurately and consistently. Not everyone will make a good sniper, so you will need to know what tactics a sniper will use, to determine if being a sniper is something you want to do.
Airsoft Snipers Field Experience
There are many tactics that airsoft snipers use. Before being able to use various airsoft sniper tactics, a sniper will need experience on the paintball field. Knowing the following will be necessary to be a successful sniper:
- Airsoft field strategies
- Shoot accurately
- Use of camouflage
- Observation skills
- Communication
- Field layout
There is no way to get experience except by playing as often as possible. The only way to become an accurate shooter is to practice shooting at targets from various positions. It additions, it will be necessary to shoot accurately from a concealed position and also while moving out on the field.
Another important skill will be to know your teammates and how they play, communicate, and move on the field. This is accomplished by playing regularly with the same team members. Once you have airsoft field experience you will be able to learn sniper tactics.
Airsoft Sniper Tactics
Once you have developed airsoft shooting skills and have experience on the field, you will be ready to train with an experienced sniper by setting up scenarios and learning why the tactics are used by snipers in each scenario. These are some of the tactics that snipers use on the airsoft field use:
- Stalking - a sniper will need to be able to move on the field, stalking the opponent to be able to take out key shooters and weaken the opposing team.
- Stealth Movement - an airsoft sniper must be able to move about undetected. Wearing camo or a ghillie suit and silently moving on the airsoft field using existing cover and position to remain undetected will accomplish this.
- Sniper Teams - sometimes a sniper will work alone, but sometimes a sniper team will be used. With a team, there will be a spotter who will communicate with the sniper. The spotter may also draw out fire and create a distraction so that the sniper can get close to a target.
- Defending - laying still and hidden near a point that must be defended can be useful. Accurate shooting will be necessary to take out as many opponents as possible as fast as possible will be necessary because once detected, the sniper will be targeted.
Once a paintball player has experience and is skilled at airsoft sniper tactics, he or she will want to get an airsoft gun that is dependable, durable, and consistently shoots accurately. After that, the paintball player can take his or her place as the team sniper in airsoft competition or recreational airsoft gun games.
