You can shoot airsoft guns at targets or you can get out there on the field and play airsoft games with others. Once you have some skills shooting, you will want to become knowledgeable about airsoft tactics to be able to a valued player out on the field. You don’t have to play competitively to make use of airsoft tactics because they are useful in recreational games, role-playing, and simulation games. Here is a list of some of the important, basic airsoft tactics that you will need to be effective on the field.

Defensive Airsoft Tactics

Defensive tactics are used to defend your position. It can be done by holding your position and waiting for the enemy or advancing and letting the enemy find you and then defend the area once they are flushed out. You will need to be alert and know where the enemy is and be able to efficiently move from one location to another without being detected.

Airsoft Snipers Tactics

To be a sniper you will need to have accurate shooting skills. If you aren’t a sniper, you will want to be able to cover him or her. Once the sniper clears an area, team members will need to be ready to advance before the enemy is able to recover the area. Camouflage in used for the sniper.

Offensive Airsoft Tactics

This tactic doesn’t allow you to offend anyone; this one is an attack tactic. You will need to advance undetected and shoot accurately when the opportunity arises. Working as a team, some members will advance and others will cover the team members advancing.

Communication Airsoft Tactics

Keeping team members in view and being able to communicate positions of the enemy either silently or by announcement is important to winning on the airsoft field. On the field, you will want to communicate your position plans. Once shot, team members are not allowed to coach from the sidelines and cannot communicate with the teammates out on the airsoft field.

Combat Airsoft Tactics

When engaged in fire, you’ll use combat tactics to stay in the game and on the field. Maneuvering and planning your attack is part of combat. Giving everyone clear directions and making sure everyone is prepared is important to completing the mission.

Camouflage Airsoft Tactics

On outdoor fields it is easier to use camouflage to be successful. The surroundings can be used to hide your position. Also clothing can be used to conceal a location and blend into the environment. Camouflage allows a shooter to surprise an enemy. If you are using landmines, you will be able to position them strategically using the material on the ground to camouflage the mine.

Accurate shooting is essential to successfully completing missions, but the most skilled airsoft shooter will also need to be able to use a variety of airsoft tactics to become a valued member of the team. Though not really a tactic, being able to work as part of a team is essential. The team wins together and looses together, so individual egos and poor sportsmanship must be put aside to have a good team.

Airsoft gun games are challenging and the more tactics you can use successfully, the more fun you will have out on the field.
