Airsoft Safety
Posted by AirsoftGuns.
Whenever someone says, "Time for airsoft safety rules!" players acquire a deaf-ear and begin thinking BORING! It doesn’t have to be that way because airsoft safety is rather straightforward and easy to follow. It is not really boring because explaining the safety rules takes less than a minute at most fields. Also don’t forget these rules can prevent unnecessary injures.
At airsoft fields, they normally have additional safety rules that every player must follow. But most of the rules are common sense. Below are some of the basic safety rules to give you an idea before getting to a field. If you are planning on playing airsoft gamed with your friends not at a field, these safety rules will help you in being safe.
Note: Airsoft safety rules should be followed at all times while handling or being around airsoft guns.
Safety Rules
Whenever using airsoft guns, it is recommended to stick to safety rules. Airsoft safety rules usually are not all that different from other firearm safety rules.
Public Places
Since most airsoft guns are replicas of real firearms, it is highly recommended to never display your airsoft gun in public unless it is enclosed in a glass container, which could be a gun case or similar. The following is some but not all inappropriate locations to display your airsoft gun; malls, parks, stores, libraries, and schools.
Protective Gear
The minimum requirement while in an airsoft game/skirmish is proper impact-rated glasses/goggles to protect your eyes. Without the correct eye protection, your eye can be severely injured because airsoft guns can shoot over 400fps. There are mean different types of protective gear including pads, and gloves.
Maximum Velocity Rule
The velocity limits are between 280ft/s and 400ft/s for Automatic Electric Guns (AEGs) and 400 and 500 ft/s for single shot airsoft guns. The velocity is measured using 0.2g pellets. Before using an airsoft gun the velocity should be checked to prevent any unnecessary injuries to other players.
Blind Man
In an airsoft game, a player can yell the words “Blind Man” if a player or bystander is seen without protective eye gear on. This will bring the game to a standstill until the situation is resolved. Any player, who hears the words “Blind Man”, must stop all actions and also shout the words. These words are only used for emergencies because it halts the entire operation and all action, having a gun problem does not represent an emergency.
