CO2 Airsoft Gas

Home » Types of Airsoft Guns » Gas Airsoft Guns » CO2 Airsoft Gas

Airsoft guns that use gas are one of three types of airsoft guns. CO2 gas is one of the types of gases that can be used in a gas airsoft gun. The other two types airsoft guns are spring-loaded airsoft guns and electric airsoft guns.

There are different types of CO2 gas available for airsoft guns. There may be a slight difference in some brands, but mostly… CO2 gas is pretty much the same. Some airsoft guns may require a specific CO2 gas as part of the requirements for a warranty to be valid.

American Eagle CO2 gas is the only gas that has that has APS3 silicone lubricant blended. This gas actually lubricates the airsoft gun seals as it is fired. This can extend the life of the seals and reduce maintenance on the CO2 airsoft gas pistol or rifle.

CO2 airsoft gas has different pressures available. To determine which one will work best, match the air pressure with the weather temperature. Here is an example:

  • Warm/Hot Weather (64 degrees to 104 degrees) – SP1574MA
  • Cool/Cold Weather (39 degrees to 64 degrees) - SP1575MA

When purchasing CO2 for airsoft guns, rifles, or pistols there may be limited shipping options due to restrictions of shipping CO2 by plane. You will need to plan ahead for the added time that ground delivery takes or purchase locally.

Just like with airsoft gun ammunition-it is best to have more than you think you will need, make sure you always have more CO2 than you think you will need. You can always take it back home if you don’t use it. When you run out of CO2 airsoft gas on the field it will affect the game. One of four will happen:

  1. You are shot and captured (airsoft gun games)
  2. You miss out on play time on the airsoft gun field
  3. You will have to borrow someone else’s spare CO2 gas
  4. You will pay high amounts to purchase CO2 gas at the field airsoft gun store

None of the above options make for a good day of airsoft gun shooting. It can also make your real unpopular with your team fast if when you run out of CO2 gas it effects if they win or loose an airsoft shooting game.

Those new to airsoft guns wonder how gas airsoft rifles and pistols compare to spring-loaded and electric airsoft rifles and pistols.

Gas Airsoft Guns

Pressurized gas is used to propel the ammunition. It is the most proficient type of airsoft gun.

Electric Airsoft Guns

Compressed air that is used to propel the ammunition is reused to cycle the slide back. It is the most commonly used type of airsoft gun.

Spring Airsoft Guns

The airsoft gun is cocked then fired to propel the ammunition. This is the least expensive to shoot because there is no air or batteries to buy.

There are different types of gas that can be used on gas airsoft guns. CO2 is just one kind of gas. The other types of gas include the following:

CO2 airsoft gas is available for purchase at all stores that sell airsoft guns and also is available on line to buy.
